Installation Process for your Splashback

Installation is straightforward. First, thanks to the sturdy 1.2mm thickness of the sheet, handling Design05 brass kitchen splashbacks is made much easier, especially in larger sizes. Moreover, if your wall has any imperfections, this extra thickness ensures the splashback sits flat against the wall.

If needed, we can also back the kitchen splashback onto a 9mm timber substrate—simply include this detail in your quote request.

For adhesion, we recommend using construction adhesives such as Bostic Simson MSR or CT1 Adhesive Sealant, which can be sourced from The Glue People. Alternatively, we can supply it—just let us know. (Important: avoid acid-cure silicones.)

Caring for your Brass Splashbacks

For natural or satin finish without a lacquer coating, maintenance is straightforward. Use a microfiber cloth with warm, soapy water for cleaning. These splashbacks naturally develop a patina over time, so it’s best to avoid harsh cleaning products. To slow down patina formation, you can apply a layer of beeswax, such as the Natural Creamy Beeswax from Flag Paints Ltd.

Lacquered brass finishes are also easy to maintain—wipe them down with a damp microfiber cloth using soapy water and dry thoroughly with another clean cloth.

A brass cleaner like Brasso is ideal for preserving their shine for mirror-polished or the hammered finish. Or if you want an eco-friendly cleaner try Biomex which is biodegradable and made with natural products. (Available on Amazon)
